PEDREÑA

This is the most populated town in the municipality of Marina de Cudeyo. It is located south of Santander Bay and about 20 km from Santander. It also has beautiful marshes that allow the practice of the shellfish of molluscs like clams and knives. There is also a small water sports centre and some nice restaurants around.

If you go to Pedreña there are many things you can do:

  • If you like playing golf, we highly recommend you the “Real Golf de Pedreña” Golf Course (18 holes).

  • You can also visit the Golf Interpretation Center "Severiano Ballesteros
" and see the permanent exhibition on Severiano Ballesteros.

  • You can do Sailing, windsurfing, Kayak, Stand Up Paddle in the Water Sports centre.

  • Diving is also an option at the “Diving Centre of Pedreña

  • Walking around any of the 7 "charming routes" of Marina de Cudeyo

If you need it, there is a tourist office just at the port of Pedreña (very close from where the boat will drop you off)

SOMO

The town of Somo is located in the municipality of Ribamontán al Mar, it is about 22 km from Santander.

Somo is a tourist centre where you can practice a lot of outdoor activities in a beautiful natural environment. But Somo is particularly famous for its extensive beach and great waves for Surfing. In fact, there are many surfing schools in the area, as well as the best surfing school in Spain.

Somo, together with Loredo and El Puntal Beach form the longest sandy ground of all Cantabria (almost 8 km. of fine golden sand) that protects the bay of Santander from the strong swell of the Cantabrian Sea.

If you go to Somo there are many things you can do there:

• Surf, Kite Surf, Body Board, Stand up paddle surf.

• Skate, Roller, BMX at the Somo Skatepark.

• Visit the Somo Surf Center and see the permanent exhibition "History of Surfing in Cantabria".

• Practice Kayak, Canoeing by the Cubas Estuary.

• Horse riding on the beach.

• Walk along its kilometre-long beach.

 DURATION: 10 minutes

The last stretch of the beach is called Punta Rabiosa

EL PUNTAL

“Playa de El Puntal” belongs to the municipality of Ribamontán al Mar. As of its name suggest, “puntal” is a stretch of sand

surrounded by water. This unspoilt long beach is a true natural paradise with lovely sandy dunes and offers fantastic views of Santander city and Magdalena Palace.

It is the first in a line of three beaches: El Puntal, Somo and Loredo.
The area behind the beach is not at all developed, delimited only by the Cubas River. If you want to access this beach, you can just do it walking from Somo (or by the sea) and from Santander thanks to this s
huttle
