Cantabria is a main destination for surfers due to the quality of its waves and beautiful beaches. Not surprisingly, the first Spanish surfer to surf a wave did it in El Sardinero Beach in 1963. As it could not be in another way, there are many surf schools along the coast of Cantabria nowadays and some are meant to the best in Spain. In fact, the "Escuela Cántabra de Surf"  (in Somo) is said to be the best in Spain.

If Cantabria is a paradise for surfers, Santander is it as well. If you practice already surf or if you would like to do a beginners course, Santander offers you two great surf schools in El Sardinero Beach. These schools offer courses, camps, and equipment rental.
